Well, before I take the next step into this new journey I figured I would update you folks for those that followed my Festae thread. For a while now I've been unhappy with the quality of the Festae I'd purchased getting petstore stock and learning more and more about cichlid breeding and genetics. The colors on my Festae just didn't seem to be there. So long story short I got together with my brother in law and gave him my two Festae. My jag is going into my 72x24x24 along with my two Oscars and green severum. So far everyone is good. And that leaves me with an empty 72x18x26. I've done a good clean, and re-aquascaped, now it's waiting for my new arrival. I've ordered 6, F2 Kronoheros Umbriferum juvi's from Jeff Rapps. I'm aware they will easily outgrow my tank. But I have plans for a bigger tank in the near future. I thought about getting some of Jeff's wild caught Festae instead. But I feel abit burnt out on Festae for abit. So I'm trying something I've never kept before. Any advice or pointers are welcome. I'll post pictures and make a journal thread when they get in.

Oh, and the Festae I gave up are going to a good home. My brother in law wants to finish growing them and see how they turn out in his 175. So I will be able to see if I made the right choice down the road.

I purchased two of said wild Mesoheros Festae from Rapps recently, they're maybe 2.5 inches and already gorgeous.

Yeah, that's the difference between a quality fish and a mutt sadly. Mine where closing in on 5 inches and just muddled color. But maybe their just late bloomers I'm not sure. I will be able to see them at my brother in law's. So only time will tell. I however was ready to move on and try something new.
