Hi gang..new subscriber to your website..love it so far..sad to say this is my second post..first post was regarding a PC speed test..

ANywhoo..I've got a Canon Rebel XTI with a
- Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6
- Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8

really cheap tripod. nothing flashy

And my tank...

110 gallon - 5 feet by 18 inches by 24 inches
105 pounds of lava rocks
12 plants assorted (some tall and some short)
45 Africans Cichlids wide variety...i can list them if anybody needs specifics.

Also i will be posting pictures as soon as i can figure out how to take pictures.

I just purchased and expecting it soon, a Canon 580EX II (pretty excited)

ALSO i have a treat for you guys, or whoever finds this interesting..i have a blue light system set up in my tank and i have that running at nights..thats a mode i enjoy alot and unfortunately, i cant take decent pictures using this method..ill be reading up on that some more..ill upload some bad pictures in the next couple of days so some of you can get a feel as to what I'm talking about..

The moonlight effect sounds like a real challenge Rob. Look forward to your posts.

Btw, there are quite a few Canadians who hang out here, including one of our resident top talented photographers and mod. But I'll let him introduce himself.;)

Yes, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II is very good lens! I had started with it also…
Good choice about Canon Speedlite 580EX, too! But you’ll need not only one…probably…:-)
