I ordered a 36 watt Jebao UV Sterilizer and a 75 gallon Sun Sun canister filter. My plans are to fill up the canister with some type of media, all the trays, to slow the water flow down from 265 GPH to hopefully under or at 200 GPH. I currently have an 18 Watt Jebao that has worked well for over 1 year without any issues or bulb replacements on my 500.

I'm wanting to run both UV's on the same canister with the 36 watt first and then the 18 watt.

When I do large water changes it takes about a day or two for the water to clear up, thats is after a backwash. A simple water change doesnt make the water cloudy. But after 2 days the water is crystal clear.

My next upgrade will be a 6000 GPH pump for my Ultima filter up from 3600 GPH.

Does anyone else here run two UV's together?

Sounds good. UV seems to be a nice system to have.

I swear by it. I know its not needed to have a successful aquarium setup but for me its the way to go.

I was going to go with a major name brand UV but they are very expensive. I read over and over and over, many online reviews on Jebao, some have issues and some don't. I'm one with no issues with this UV as of yet. For the price you can't beat it. Cant wait to set it up :)

Got the filter setup last night, ran it over night to check for leaks, found two, had to reseat the top of the filter a few times it get it right.

I added two trays of biomax and one tray of the floss they gave me.

For the UV and filter to work, I had to use parts of the Marineland 360 hose because the hose from the canister was too small to fit on the UV so I got an adapter to make it work. Water runs very slow which is what I wanted.

I added 2 shut-off valves pretty close to the filter, one thing I had about canisters is they don't come with one, I sure do miss the FX5, so I added my own and works great.

Total Cost:

Canister Filter $48.98 Free Shipping
36 Watt UV - $65.88
2 Shut-off valves $8
1 Hose adapter - $4

I upgraded from 18 watt to 36 watt :)
