I lost one of my two 6 year old Oscars over the new year. I pretty sure that it was internal parasites/ bloat. I treated the tank with metronidazole. My surviving O seemed depressed without her tank mate, or very close to death still. So after a week of my big female O barely feeding, and moving, I decided to get her a new friend.
Its a beautiful veil tail lutino Oscar. It is about 8" with its tail. It would probably only be a 4.5" Oscar if it had a normal tail.
The introduction of the new Oscar has done wonders for the old O. On the second day the big O was at the top of the tank waiting for food when I got home. That was the first time she had acted normal in 4 weeks. She has eat normally for the last 2 days also.
I think this fish will be really impressive in a couple months.
