Just a little vid. These two have been very active.

They're great rays, very active. It's just such a PITA to upload the vids. It takes forever! That, and photobucket limits you to 100 mb vids. That's not very long. I'll try to get some footage of them feeding.

they look AWESOME hawk. Video definitely not long enough though :D

btw, what tank size are they in, and how big are they?

They're in a 220 right now. The darker one (Colombian, I think) is about 7-8" disk, and the lighter one (Peruvian?) is about 6-7" disk. I love these guys. I'll have to find out from Nick which one is which.

I saw these new square Marineland tanks at my LFS the other day and the owner was telling me that they come in 3-6' squares. Awesome for rays. I think I'm gonna get one for these guys.

I might re-think the names, unless you (*hopefully) meant it as a tribute.. Steve Irwin accomplished so much in his life its actually hard to comprehend it all.

Steve Irwin either created or joined forces with these groups/initiatives:

-International Crocodile Rescue
-Steve Irwin Conservation Foundation
-Wildlife Warriors Worldwide
-Lyn Irwin Memorial Fund
-Irwin bought "large tracts of land" in Australia, Vanuatu, Fiji, and the U.S.
-Discovered a new species of turtle thats named after him, Elseya Irwini
-Joined with the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service to promote Australia's strict quarantine/customs requirements
-In 2004, he was appointed ambassador for The Ghan, the passenger train running from Adelaide to Alice Springs in the central Australian outback
-He was also a keen promoter for Australian tourism in general and Queensland tourism in particular. In 2002, the Australia Zoo was voted Queensland's top tourist attraction.

AWARDS:

-In 2001, Irwin was awarded the Centenary Medal
-In 2004, he was recognised as Tourism Export of the Year
-He was also nominated in 2004 for Australian of the Year
-Irwin was to be named an adjunct professor at the University of Queensland's School of Integrative Biology.
-Irwin was awarded the adjunct professorship posthumously by the University of Queensland.
-In May 2007, the Rwandan Government announced that it would name a baby gorilla after Steve Irwin as a tribute to his work in wildlife conservation.
-The Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Centre in Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary was named by the Kerala government after late Steve Irwin

Anyways, *****in rays.
