New vieja from TUIC - progression thread

Received another order from Kevin at TUIC (another great experience with him, great service and stock), which included this ~3” vieja melanura. First vieja and the one I’ve wanted to keep for some time. Residing in a 125.

Anyway, fish looks great and has settled in well after a few days. Will post progress here for kicks.

Very cool, another person keeping Melanura from TUIC. Kevin does have some great fish. I bought two from him On January 31st at the 4 inch mark. I can share with you what they look like now at the 5.5 inch mark if you would like. Give you a glimpse into the future.......lol

Couple from today. Really starting to seem some color, fish is also developing a bit of personality now.

biguebs your Melanura is starting to get some nice color coming in. I have noticed with mine that when I feed a higher protein pellet that he/she starts to turn more black. When I feed a higher veggie diet I see a lot more color. Mine is eating New Life Spectrum Algaemax like a beast and he/she's colors are glowing.
