Ok I have been out of the game for a while now due to work used to have 6+ tanks at any time. I am setting up a new 120 gal to kick it off right currently letting it cycle right with 2 Aquaclear 70s and getting ready to throw in a Synodontis to start the bacteria and ammonia stage. My question is this I have found the Reaction EFU-45s out now with a built in UV sterilizer has anyone had any good, or bad, experience with them? What new fish breed would be awesome to start this thing off? I am leaning towards a live plant life with the new 3 stage T5 lighting. I am attaching a photo of the first day setup using silica pool sand and a single cool rock. Talk to me people

Ok, got the syndonotis in and tank is cycling. Found bad reviews on the reaction filters so looking at the Aquatop CF500-UV. Added some African Swords and a couple more rocks. Now just waiting a week or two before more fish and to get the canister filter in. Input on the Aquatop would be appreciated.

How about some cherry barbs? ;)

What kind of fish are looking to stock it with?

That's where I'm not sure. I used to have a pair of 15 inch Os in it, but not positive I want to do another aggressive tank. I was thinking definitely some earth eaters but open to suggestions for tank mates. I don't know what is the new options now.

Update. Got the Aquatop D2HT-300 and a CF-500UV along with the already running 2 Aquaclear 70s. I also found some cool driftwood had to weight it with a rock for the moment, but should settle down in a few months. Went to LFS today and found a pair of Archer fish for 25.00 each loved them and had to have them. Also decided to stop by PetCo just cause and they had adopted a 8-9" Texas Cichlid so I grabbed him for 10.00. Pick of tank with wood:

You are aware the archers are brackish water fish, right? Also, the Texas will more than likely beat the crap out of them. Long term I don't think your stock will work.

Yes on brackish no problem. I got the archers already grown and they have a good 2-3 inches on Texas so hopefully they get along. If not then Texas can go. Thanks for looking out though.

you could try for a pair of texas, breeding behavior is always fun to watch.get some fast dithers:SD,filament barbs, rainbows.i would move the driftwood off-center,nice piece.if you want SA go with some severums, chocolates

I like archers, I'd go brackish...lots of interesting fish in behavior and appearance compared to most fw fish
