so I haven't made a new topic here in a while so I figured I would document this build on here

The build is going to be of two cages and we shall call it "The Unit" lol
so this unit will consist of two 4x2x3 enclosures
one for the ackies one for the PTS
it will also have a small storage space up top
the viewing windows will be about 45" x 24" and there will be 16" for substrate and 8 inches for lights which will be covered by egg crate or hardware cloth
for lighting I will have one basking bulb one infer red bulb and a two bulb tube light, the infer red or ceramic heat bulb will be hooked up to a thermostat and will be the main heat source in each cage and will be set at 82 degrees for the ambiant
now the fun part
I will be getting as many live plant as possible
and am hoping to make a nice rock background for the cages I was thinking a redish for the ackie and brownish black for the PTS
I am hoping to find some nice large branches with the bark still on them for decor
if anyone has any ideas on where to get branches please share
also if anyone has any tips or ideas please share, your more than welcome

pics should be up tomorrow if all goes to plan

can't wait, seems like it will be a cool build. good luck!

are there any places where I can order plants in canada
and are there any plants you would recomend for the ackie
it would be cool if I could get some spinifex grass lol

I also have a water fall for one of the cages most likely the ackie

UPDATE

my butt hole brother didnt show but that just gives me more time to plan
for the ackie cage I am going to try to do a termite mound with large pieces of wood and rock ledges
for the PTS I am doing lots of large wide logs and platforms with a stream and pool seeing as though he loves the water and lots of plants

how are you going to create the termite mound? it sounds like it will be nice

chicken wire or egg crate as the frame and spray foam all over the rest

are you gonna use great stuff foam? because speaking from experience, it is more difficult to work with than you think.
