New WC Crenicichla Lepidota

I picked up 2 of these guys friday. Theres a crazy story that goes behind getting them that included being stranded for 3 hours lol. But yeah. The biggest one hides quite a bit. Took for ever to get decent shots. Not even decent lol. But yeah I'm glad to have gotten these.

looks like a sveni to me too, and I have one in my tank. if you feed them well, they get over their "shyness" a little more. also, once they are bigger, they will become much more active around the tank.

Looking awesome bro!!! Glad you got some Crenicichla period! Crenicichla sveni are super awesome though, highly underappreciated for sure!!!

Did you pick out one that had some spotting in the dorsal? Hope so! Then maybe you can get a pair out of them!!!

Crenicichla must be the most misidentified/mislabeled South American cichlid out there. I never know what I'm looking at.

Enjoy them, either way. All mine got over their initial shyness. My batch of mystery pikes from John came around after a couple weeks; same with my regani. They all started out a bit leery but now they come out and parade around when I'm in the room. Just let them know where the food comes from and they'll quickly learn to love the sight of you.
