New WC Endli eyes

Was observing my new WC Endli and saw his eyes looked similar to a retropinis with the black spots surrounding the pupil. Is this normal? It looks awesome to me I can't wait until he colors up!

My palmas polli has them too. I think it can happen with any bichir.
