Pocked a few little guys up this weekend. Anyone have a guess on the collection point? I am guessing rio tocantins.

If you don't know the collection point of your "kelberi", how do you know it's wild caught?

A reputable dealer brought them on from an importer and I know they aren't the same as the captive bred bahia. Here's another pic from when he had them. They were a little stressed when my pictures were taken.

He's a thick boy. Probably weights 3 pounds or so and is only 17" long

I agree. Looks like my big boy. But these days it is so hard to believe anyone on wc cichla besides a couple vendors. So who knows really. Just enjoy them. We can tell when they are something special or different after we have all been around a few years.
