My new DIY wet/dry is nearing completion and it will be put to work under my 260g.
I am replacing a small 40L plastic sump with this 120L wet/dry to give me more Bio and general water filtration as I now have a Tigrinus and Adonis in the tank together with 2 big Monoculus and a CK.
I think with this new sump and the current FX5 the filtration should be sufficient to help the fish stay healthy.

I will be adding a drip tray and using some aluminium angle as ledges for the egg crate. I going to use plastic scrubbies, bio balls and matrix for bio media and line the tray with pre filtering foam.

I will post pics as I go.

I have my sump drip tray glued and drying and now I just have to cut out the egg crate and move the sump into position.

I think it turned out well, I will post more pics of the old sump and of the media and plumbing soon.

So far :headbang2for my new sump project.

Looking good!

Thanks guys, I am trying to finish this ASAP but I do get home late most nights from work.
My next project will be to redo my 120g 4'x2'x2' wet/dry and I am going to use the design as the present one is not working as I would like it.
Stay tuned.

nice job so far.

did you glue the whole thing yourself?

No the tank is an old unused small aquarium that I kept for just such as project.
I only converted it into a sump.
