Hey MFK,

I took my dog out for a walk this morning and came across some lovely pieces of wood. They are from a local stream that runs throu the town. So I was wondering if these would be ok to put in my tank. I've only ever bought wood before from LFS so I know about the whole soaking it in water for a few weeks before.

The darker one of the two is very water logged and sinks instantly and the other was growing on the side of the stream but the farmer had pulled it out whilst clearing the stream.

Thanks

Hutchcox

I have used similiar wood before with no ill effects. I would say clean it good and go with it as long as the water it came from was in good shape.

The bottome piece was fully under water in a fast moving stream, and the top was pulled out form the bank of the stream, I've got them soaking now, I'll leave them under water for a few weeks.

Thanks
