I just got my new XP2 up and running. Whenever it is off, air seeps out of one of the corners. I'm not certain, but I also think it is filling up with air from this same spot when it is on all day. I check it everyday and there is extra air that burps out whenever I turn it off. I have the fill cap tight and the rest of the inlet parts are under water and the hose is well past the 2 inch mark. I admit I could be sucking air from the inlet connector on the unit as I don't have the hoses cut to the right length.
Anyway, I'm certain it is air seeping from a corner when the unit is off. It seeps out under the pressure of the tank. I rotated the base 180 degrees and even tried it without the baskets, and the air seeps from the same spot. I don't know if or how much water would leak since as long as it is on, it is actually pulling air in or sealing up, but for a brand new unit, I'm pretty sure it should be completely air tight.
I tried to contact Mars but they are out of the office till Thursday. I'm wondering if this little bit of seeping is normal, and if not, how is Mars to deal with? Are there any tips on who to contact? I read a review that said Mars made someone in the same situation pay for a new gasket or pay for shipping or something. I'm wondering if anyone else has had to deal with them for a new product, and how did they handle it?
