Well after staying up until 4:00 am with the wife last night, we woke up to a little chill in air.

No heat.:-O :-(

Service people won't be out until Tuesday because of the extended holiday.

This fish room will be the only warm room in the house for the next two days.:-|

Hope this is not an early sign for what to expect for the rest of 2006:-(

Sorry to hear your troubles, Bobby, hope they get it fixed. You might want to
get a Kerosun 105 kerosene heater or the like, for emergencies like this. It heats
900 sq ft, recommended. Of course you'll want to keep some windows cracked open
a half inch in the room it's in.

Take care,

wow, extended holiday huh? that sounds like a bum deal. well, keep each other warm and good luck with the fish!

Bobby.

Well you can look at it 2 ways. Early sign of things to come or..... You are getting the bad stuff out of the way and the rest of the year will be nothing but good stuff! :-D

I too am hoping the second thought is more like it!

We had a 75 gallon leak completely at the store today and lost a whole bunch of young assorted cichlids. So I am wondering are we off to a horrible start of 2006 or just getting the bad stuff now and rest of the year better. My business partner discovered the problem when he went to the store this morning. Fish dead, tank leaking, floor flooded and the business next to us flooded too.

As far as weather - we just had the hottest New Years Day on record. Something like 82 today. Yeah this is south Texas but still we are not suppose to be in the 80's right now!

Stay warm and hopefully all will be well for the rest of the year.

Mark, you have my sympathies. You are going through a real bummer compared to our small problem.

As it turns out the temps this evening are only getting down to around 38f. So we don't have to worry about any frozen pipes. And all the new windows and insulation we did years ago is really providing a very comfortable and cozy climate. Not bad at all.

When a year starts like this, it usually can only get better for us.:-D

Our heat ran out in the middle of the night a couple weeks ago. My b/f though that the oil drum float measured at the top of the bubble but it's the bottom! Luckily our local oil company does erergency deliveries but instead of the normal minimum of 100gallons it was 150. He also had to bleed the lines because the tank had run dry so that was an extra $75. All in all it was a $450 delivery...ack. Gotta love paying $2.28 per gallon of home heating oil...that's more expensive than the gas stations now! Should be a law against that.

All the animals were okay...fish tank heaters had to work a little harder and we had to leave the Beardie lights on late to keep them warm enough, but all was well.
