new york pond

theres a pond near my house with a slow current,there tons of algea in it.there frogs and some sunfish in it so i think its healthy.my question is what other kinds of fish can i find here,im really looking for catfish or gar.also would it be safe to eat this fish from here.im located in new york

just go to long john silvers! leave the fish in the pond! how are we supposed to know what kind of fish are in it and if they are safe to consume!!!???

yes. def. longnose gar and may have shortnoses.
