Hi I'm new here. I got my two senegals on V day, from Walmart(I know not best place to buy) after months of researching and lurking here and on the other primitve monsters board.

I swear my two have already grown too, I know they've put on weight- one was real skinny when I got him.

One had no right arm  but thanks to daily treatments with Melafix he/she is growing that back.

Anyhow, I look forward to meeting you all.:D

Oh yeah they are in a 20 gallon tank and are eating earthworms, frozen beefheart, frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp and also the shrimp pellets, as well as live ghost shrimp and feeders. I still have to get them the carnivore pellets. But can only find the Hikari sinking ones. Are those the same as Massivore ones?

Hey, welcome to MFK :)

Congrats on the pick ups. I don't think there is a difference between sinking carnivore and massivore other than size of the pellet, but usually Hikari doesn't change the name based on size so it could be one has more protein? I'm too lazy to go look at the packaging right now.

Hello, welcome! I use omega one sinking shrimp pellets for mine and he seems to be doing fairly well. You will need a larger tank for them as they get larger. For two of them, I'd get at least a 55, but you may be able to squeak by with a 40.

A 12" width might be uncomfortable once/if they hit a foot long. I'd get a 75.
