hello fellow MFKer,i got a question,my LFS has a 4" zig zag eel for $3,it looks cool,i want 1 and uh what tank size will i need and how big do they get?do they do fine with bichirs?how fast do they grow?what do thye eat?

Zig zags don't get very big and would be food for your monsters.

it sounds like he was possibly going to do just that, try another tank by his question of how big do they get and what size tank do they need? That's just how it sounded to em at least. I had a few questions about zig zags, such as size, and this post helped me out with that much in regards to info

Yes, zig zag usually only get to be 6" long. Though some sights say 16". This eel is often confused with the tire track, so online researching needs to be very selective and cautious for info given.

This is so true!. I was at an lfs on friday and they had an eel labeled as a tire track. I'd looked at pics of tire tracks before I left so knew what to look for. When I got there the eel named did not fit the description of the TT. Came back home and did some more reading and found that it was called the Zig Zag, which as quoted above, is commonly mixed up with TT.
