Hi all,
I'm new here.I found this site while researching how to take care of my new peacock bass. I do taxidermy and thought it would be a good idea to get a large aquarium to keep a lmb in for reference. I went to my local petsmart and found a nice package on sale it's a 60 gallon tank.48"x12"x24" (if I recall correctly) with a mirineland penguin 350 filter.I also got a 2"oscar to go in it.
After setting up the aquarium and adding the necessary water treatment and bacteria starter, I added my oscar and some feeder goldfish. The next day I went to a lfs to look for a catfish. While there I noticed a peacock bass. Didn't say what variety.it was about 4"long. With a hefty prove of $89.99. I decided to let them keep him. I went home and did a Google search for other pet stores that caked pbass. To my surprise my search returned an eBay listing. I browsed over several listing until I found one for six 2.5" cichlid oclisarus at a good price with free shipping. I got 6 because I figured some would die during shipping.

To my surprise, all 6 arrived this morning alive.very thin and shocked. (As to be expected). After Placing Them in my aquarium, they started to come around. They are too small to eat feeder fish and wouldn't eat cichlid food so I went to a local pond and caught some tiny mosquito fish.
Five of the six devoured the minnows. One pbass tries to school with the others, but it is so thin and lethargic that after a few seconds it falls to the bottom of the tank.
I went back to pets mart and got some freeze dried blood worms and some frozen ones. They Wouldn't eat the dry ones.one pbass ate some of the frozen worms. (Thawed of course).
The lethargic one inhaled a worm and spit it up, then sank to the bottom again.

What should I try feeding them?
I don't want to lose any and I don't have time to search for tiny mosquito fish every day.

Upon further research, I learned how big pbass get.I hope to fond a used 200+ gallon aquarium soon !
I'm super excited about these fish.i have wanted to fish for them my whole life, now I have them in my aquarium.
Thanks
