New York
Hi, this is Kenny from New York. I just signed up to the forum. Just want to say Hi to everyone. I'm into keeping predatory fish and catching predatory fish. I've been keep fish for a good 20 years, and I spend at least 4 days a week fishing the long island saltwater. Right now I have a pack of 5 red belly piranhas in my 75gl, which I do 20% of water 3 times a week. I like the piranhas because they're sort of a miniture version of the bluefish, which I fish for all the time. Well, the Nor-easter is gonna keep me in the house this weekend, so all I could do is watching fish at home. My piranhas eat whatever I catch from the ocean, including snapper bluefish, black sea bass, bergall, porgies, bunkers, herring, sea robins, and sometimes left-over baits.

Have the blues left out yet? The water temp in Md is about ready for ther bass to start bangin and the blues to be gone.

The snappers (here in NY we call the yearlings snappers) are already heading your way. They left NY waters before last week end. 2 weeks ago I was catching about 30 to 50 of them everyday for a good 3 weeks. They were hitting the 12" mark before they disappeared here. I got bit by one of them and had three deep cuts on my hand...bled a lot.

Yeah the blues will tear you up in a heartbeat. I dont care to catch or eat them. Good luck with your tank and fishing.

Hi! Welcome to MFK!

I miss new york. lived up there for about 5 years before moving back to hawaii.

27" fluke I landed in June...one of the reason that I never take an oscar as a big fish...my bait fish run bigger than them. No offense, I do love oscars, but by fisherman's standard they are only called pan fish.
