hey MFK ppl,

im new hear, and i have a oscar fish.

now what can i do to make him a monster. hes 6 months old, around 6" and lives in a 200l tank.

he eats pellets, live bugs and frozen food, sometimes even yabbies.

any ideas of what i can do to make him grow big??

thanks in advance

just make sure he has high quality food, good water, and plenty of space and he should grow fine

water changes + mysis + decent sized tank + worms = nice fat oscar.
your O is growing pretty quick as it is.
1"/month.
should slow down around 10".

if ure after a large oscar you will be wanting a larger tank id say atleast 280L+ and as said before do a 40-50% water change weekly and feed a varied healthy diet. (pellets as staple tho)

larger tank for sure. if you want a 12-14" O put it in a 400l or larger tank. i have my pair that im trying to get to grow in a 2000l. tank size with water quailty and diet are the 3 main ingredients to a healthy monster.

I agree, if you want a monster Oscar you need a bigger tank sooner than later. 200L = ~ 50 gallons...what's the footprint of the tank? I'd say you need at least 400L to get an Oscar to grow to its true potential.
