Hello all - glad I found this forum. I recently completed a 1200 gal outdoor pond that I plan to stock with 3-4 fancy goldfish and a couple of Koi. Also will have 10-15 assorted potted plants. My question is in regards to filtration - will a Tetra PUV-4000 - (18 Watt UV - 4,000 Gallons) paired with a Tetra DynaTec 1500 gal/hour pump be enough filtration or would one be wise to supplement it. Thanks for any advice or general tips.

The Koi may be to much action for the fancy goldies. Koi and comets work because they are both strong, fast swimmers. The fancies will have to really work food.

That's plenty of filtration especially with the plants. While the Koi are faster and more energetic, try feeding the fancies and koi in different spots. I feed my koi in one spot, and while they are in their feeding frenzy i put some food a little bit away from them with the goldfish. Some of my goldfish are now 8"+.

One other question, I have about three inches of pond liner showing that is annoying me, any suggestions on plants that could be grown from the bottom (about 2 1/2 feet) that would grow maybe six inches above the water line. I live in South-CentralTexas.
Thanks again for any advice.
