Newbie CA Tank

Hello,
I am planning to set up a 6' tank primarily housing a community of CA cichlids.
Would like to seek your opinion on the following:

- what color background
- what color substrate
- what color T5 lighting

I hope to bring out the best color performance of the CA cichlids and your valuable feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

I like a Black background with a PFS substrate and 10K lighting.

I have always liked white sand. CA cichlids seem to always show a lot of color no matter what. What is your stock list?

bifaciastus
sieboldi
bocourti
bartoni
zonatus

All are juveniles.

would definitely go with crushed coral sand for cichlids, white, easy to maintain & buffers pH very well.
