Hello everyone, I am just starting to get into the aquarium hobby. I want to get into some moba frontosa's. Before I go and buy. How would I know that I am getting moba's? Is there a way to tell when they are only 1" big? The breeder can show me moba colony parents but then can have a for say burundi fry's in a seperate tank and say those are moba's...tried googling info but cannot find...if anyone can help a newbie out..let me know, thanks

There is a huge difference between a burundi and a moba as far as looks and pricing. Before you decide to buy make sure you do plenty of research.

The only way to be sure, is to get them from a reputable breeder. Don't get them from a pet shop. If a reputable breeder sells you Moba's they will probably be Moba's.

One way to tell a moba from a burundi that small would really be to look at the face mask they have. The Burundis black line going down the face would Going straight up and down as the moba would have more like a complete zoro mask... But when there that small the mobas mask would not be in full color at all, another thing moba fry would have a considerate amount of more blue to them. But then again at that size it would be difficult to tell. One big thing I can tell you is not to buy any fronts from a LFS, all they will carry is burundis, and many will be of bad quality, mooning, bad stripes, etc. and they will be like F10000000000...never ending lol
