I'm Claire, and I'm not only new to this site, but fairly new to monster fishkeeping as well.
I currently have two tanks; a small 60 litre tank which at the moment only has 8 small tropical fish, and a bigger 120 litre tank which currently houses 2 tinfoil barbs, 1 texas cichlid, 1 ruby shark, 1 black ghost knife, 1 catfish (see picture below, can't remember what type of catfish it is!) and 1 chinese soft-shelled turtle (called Donatello, cheesey I know, but he's ace! See picture below!).
It's a strange mix, but they all get along fine, and once the smaller tank has been cleared (my friend's gonna have the remaining small fish) I'm gonna move my cichlid over and get her a mate. She had paired herself up with a parrot fish, and she's laid several loads of eggs, but the parrot fish died around a month ago, so I'd really like to get her a proper mate and see if I can manage to breed them!
Anyway, think that's enough for now. I'll post more pictures when the tanks are sorted, and let you know how the breeding attempts go. Sure i'll want lots of advice before then, anyway!
