Newbie in Joplin,MO

I am getting prepared to set up a 150 gallon freshwater aquarium.
I have never had anything bigger than a 10 gallon before.
I am doing my homework before I start spending money.
I am already confused. What kind of filter should I use ?
Should I add a protein Skimmer, an ozone generator, a UV sterolizer ?
It seems the more I read, the more confused I get.
It looks like I'll be living on this website for at least the next two months.
