Hi guys,
Planning to have a pair of pearl. But heard from my friend saying that pearl tend to suffer the "Sudden Death" symptom. That means will die without any reason. Is there any thing can do about it?

Pearl? please be specific.. some sudden death are caused by 1. tank not cycled 2. overfeeding 3.dropsy 4. sudden shock in temperature changes. 5. cats

yep before you buy a fish you should always do research about it.

post some pics of your new fish ok.

good luck

agreed with mike... i think u are well enough to know more into fish keeping they are like rearing an aro also only that their bioload is more than aro so need to wc a lot more than aro's... i am also newbei but i have read and ask a lot on this so end up buying my first pair by this saturday:D

Lots of rays can die of sudden death, but usually they die more from not getting acclimated properly or internal parasites. Before you buy, make sure you have a proper setup. Tank size, cycled, filtration, o2, parameters, food, proper water changes, tankmates, decor and substrate are all things you must highly research and consider before you buy a ray. If you have all those things covered, it will reduce any chances of death. But even then, if you have everything perfect. You can lose the ray, its just part of being a ray keeper. Its sad but true.

Thanks for all the guidances and the advices from all the senior members...Still yet to receive my pearl pair. Sure will post the post as soon as i receive them...
