Greetings folks. New person here, I figured id introduce myself and pose a question at the same time. Residing here in NYC and new to the fish keeping world. Stumbled across the site and I have been hooked since. In a nutshell, three tanks right now. A 36 corner..an empty 55 g...and a 150 (been told it was actually bigger) that is also empty right now. Anywho, went to a LFS today after work and they had what he referred to as an AUSTRALIAN AROWANA for 95 dollars. Bout 6and a half inches long. My question to you is, is that a decent price for these guys? He looked good, the store owner said it was about six months...hmmmm, I have no clue so I had to put it out there. thanks.

yes there are australian arowana's(you mite like silver or asian's better) and the price was fairly expensive for the size but his(lfs) supplyer my have a tuff time importing fish this time of year .. also do some homework on the fish you buy and a good rule of thumb is you can never over filter your tank , by the way welcome to M.F.K. web site hope to see you around more peace ....
