Newbie Question

[Psycho Magnet]

Hi all, new to the site and pretty new to the aqurium scene but this looks more my speed than just having some tetras. I currently have a 100 gallon freshwater setup with 3 Silver Dollars, 3 Blue Gouramis, 5 Tiger Barbs, a pleco and a pretty young Tiger Oscar. My question is this, at another BB I post on one of the members was talking about a maniac of a fish he had in college. He wasn't surw of the name though and he thought it was called a Booda-Kahfra or Budakkra. Either way, I could find no info on this particular fish. Any insight from the resident experts here would be great. Thanks.

i had a breeding pair of those afew years ago and they are really mean. i had to divide them up or they would kill each other. they look nice when young but turn mean as hell real fast.

I'm pretty sure that the oscar will eat the tiger barbs when het gets bigger and he might even kill those blue gouramis....

Thanks ya'll, turns out that is the fish in question. Believe me, I have no intention of getting one but I was intrigued by the stories I heard of it. I'll keep mine as it is because my 7 and 5 year old daughters love it. They really love the Oscar and the Blue Gouramis. As far as the Tiger Barbs, those sum*****es are fast as hell and so far the Oscar shows no interest. I hope it stays that way.

My old Butterkoferi Ripped the belly out of a full grown oscar and he was only 7". He also started killing a Tilapia (It was pink from a seafood supplier, don't ask) That was 11." It will probably end up killing everything in your tank. The funny thing is that on the right side of him his striping looked like it said evil on the side. Another nasty fish is a Pink Head when they get big. He chased my Red Terror into a corner until he just died.
