Hello,

I have a few questions, because it looks like I can't the 75 I was hoping for.

First, about the 20 gallon per fish rule.
does this mean I could keep roughly three red bellies in a 55? Or is this something like angelfish where they say minimum tank size is 30 gallons and that you should add 10 gallons for each extra fish?

If I can't do a small shoal of red bellies, then I guess that's too bad.

What about a single serrasalmus?

A wet-pet type piranha would be awesome. I like the look of blue diamond rhoms but they'd obviously get too big. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes you could do 3 RBP in a 55 but you'd see more natural shoaling behavior with more (not that you're packing more in a 75 though). Just over filter your tank

Yes you could do a solitary species such as the rhom you brought up. They grow HELLA slow so unless you're droppin $300+ on the big guys you'd be fine with a 55 or 75 for years

So which would you recommend, RBP or rhom?

Ive had both. diff a matter preferences. Red bellies def give you more activity in your tank though if you're only going to go with one

Rhoms feel more like a prized fish you can show off and take pride in
