well. Not new to RBP's.

I had two of them for 5 years and they both died this past winter.

Funny story actually, for no reason after 5 years one of them decided to eat the other one. And then within a month, that one died as well.

So i am a high school wrestling coach and i made it very apparent to my kids that i was upset that my two fish died.......by kicking the sh_t out of them. :D

3 month's later, at the banquet, what do the three captains have for me as a gift? three new RBPs. TINY ONE'S. and ironically enough they are named after my three wrestling captains.........i was definately taken back by the gift and not expecting it at all..............

The two that i originally had were about 10 inches when they kicked it, and these new guys were about the size of a Dime. I had never seen RBP's so small. At that point i coudln't even tell what they actually were.

Anyway, i've had them for about 3 months now in a brand new 54 gallon corner tank and they are doing great. Probably about 1.5 to 2 inches now and growing fast.

Hopefully i'll have these guys longer than the last one's.

Nice meeting everyone! :)

It was a shame, the strangest part was that in the 5 years i had them they both died within one month of eachother..........weird

That's why you get atleast 6 piranhas-do avoid cannibalism.

Is that True? I have four swimming around my tank now with plenty of space and places to hide. Would just having “Four pack” increase the chances of aggression towards each other?

Thought so, most people i have talked only have 4 to 5 in there tank. Is the odd number part to discourage other piranhas to frenzy or gang up with the one that is being more aggressive to a weaker Piranha?
