I have wanted to get a few FW rays for like 7 years now and I'm trying to get ideas on making plans. What size (gallons and measurements) for a permanent home for 3 rays, a mix of leos and motoros? Thanks!

I'd go with a 72"Lx48"W and 18"+ for height. It doesn't really matter unless you're keeping top dwelling tank mates, in which case you should make it high enough for them to feel comfortable. And a permit because it looks like you're in Texas.
yes, but they are also banned in CA, and I know lots of people there have them. Thanks for the help with the measurements. I have a friend who manages a fish store and can get a pretty good deal on a custom setup.
Is it really that hard to get a permit because I have a friend who has a bobcat in her house and had to get a permit for it. If I can't get one I will still try to get the ray. Won't be the first thing I've had illegally.
be prepared to spend a lot of moolah, along with the fish, tank and rays, the best filtration is neccesary
