around the corner from the LFS
This is my first tank I have ever owned let me know honestly what you guys think and how my set up is what I can do to make it better. I am currently housing 1 6" silver arowana, 2 Sveni ciclids(Male 4"-Female 3"), 2 whiptail plecos, 1 albino bristlenose pleco, 1 farowella, 1 whiptail farowella, 2 other unknown species catfish, 3 bamboo shrimp and 5 fiddler crabs. The 75 gallon tank they are in consistantly is stocked with 1.5-3 dozen feeder guppies, 2-3 dozen feeder ghost shrimp and 1-2 times a day I feed them live blood worms. Also I have 9 varieties of live plants total of around 13-14 groups of plants. 63 lbs of slate rock for cover and 100lbs of dime-nickle size rocks as my base. Current filtration is helped by a penn-plax cascade 700(soon to be upgraded to a FX5 with a custom spray bar). Water circulation is helped out with a Tetra 100 gallon air pump attached to 2 attached 23" bubble bars buried under the rock on the backside of my tank as well as a RIO 2500 power head(only turned on for a couple hours a day to help circulate any debri or leaves from plants) What do you guys think of this set up?

I think it's too small for the Aro. They grow very, very large (at least two and half to three feet, and some members have larger silvers than that). Also, you have a lot of bottom-dwellers, and space may become an issue as they grow older and more territorial. Make sure there are plenty of caves. Other than that, it sounds really nice, and I'd love to see photos.

the size was the only real problem i had.

although i wouldnt stock the tank with feeders. its the fact you dont have control over the fishes feeding habits i dont like about it.

gota see some pics an if you say your guna upgrade your tank then all should be pretty cool, but def. need some pics man

upgrade ur tank size, then filtration.....try and ween ur fish off feeders....and onto pellets.

all those crustaceans should be removed, as they will be getting eaten soon, and that would be a shame.
