just brought some dats home. they seem real shy and prefer to hide. i put some blood worms in and they tore it up.. and went back to hiding.. how long will it take for them to stop hiding and not be so shy? i hope they come out as awesome as all the dats ive seen on mfk. :headbang2

It depends, usually takes a few weeks or more.

I agree. If they have plenty of places to hide, they feel more comfortable and are more active. I use Java Fern for good hiding spots for small ones, and flower pots for the medium sized ones.

i have a bunch of baby indos and ive always kept them in bare tanks. some would hide, but as soon as i walk up in front of the tank all the babies would come up and beg for food. but of course it is good for them to have some hiding places.

Mine are also beggers. Good to teach them who is the provider at a young age.

hmm mine seemed to have come out from hiding.. but in a weird way. they swim all over along the front and side glass, almost in a freakin out kinda way. could there be something wrong? and is it possible for a tank to have too much water flow?

it happens to all fish they,ll swim against the glass every now and then but every thing should be fine

when these guys suggested the dither to me it seemed to really work well. in other words i would recomend to dither also!
