im think about getting a 2.5 mini bowfront aquarium and want to make it a saltwater set up it would be my first one and i was thinksing of getting a emerald crab any suggestions on what i should do?please help

i heard they were REALLY expencive to maintain is this true?and the largest i could use right now is a 20l

20 long or 20 liter?

forget the 20 liter
but a 20 long would work fine as a first tank..

for a basic setup you'd be looking at between 3-600 to setup depending how expensive fish equipment is around you

it depends what you want to do. FO is no more expensive then FW. Although a lot of work. Reef everyone thinks is the most work but its actually the least. Although a Reef will cost a lot of money to set up and maintain. My 90 gallon is atleast $4000 at set up, god only knows after how much I've added. Do a lot of reading first. www.reefcentral.com is where you can start

with smaller tanks bad things happen MUCH faster than in big tanks.
I would go with a 20 or 30 gallon and pick some easy starter fish (some clownfish, gobies ect) . pricing all depends on how elaborate you make your tank. You could try to find some used tanks and make your desicions from there. You also dont have every thing at one time

i did mean 20 long and im kinds short on cash (lol only $16) so ill have to try a reef aquarium in the 20 long after i get my job this next spring about how much a month would it cost to maintain it?

id suggest to save some money and get a nice setup for the 20 long. You will be much happier and your stocking option choices increase, by a small increase but still and increase lol. Do reserch on types of fish you like, and make sure they can co exist with one another and fit in that size tank.

im thinking about getting a few mandarin gobies for it would i be able to do this?

not in a 20 gallon unless you find the 1 in 100 that'll take prepared foods
mandarins, scooter blennies, pipefish, and seahorses should really be kept in larger tanks with LOTs of OLD live rock for copepod production
