Hi there, I am Thuban. I am the fish enthusiasts headache :P I've owned several tanks since childhood (my grandpa gave me a 55 gal saltwater tank when i was 11.. im shocked at how long that thing lasted).

Up until my newest tank, i've always just been a toss the fish in and see what happens type. I got lucky, the only time i ever lost a fish was when the cat jumped on the top of the tank and electrocuted the fish (all but one survived)

Currently I have a 20gal with a male betta, two platy, three dayglos (pink male, 2 yellow females) a snail, a pleco (its gotta 150 gal to move into at a friends when he gets too big) two african dwarf frogs and a few ghost shrimp. the shrimp and pleco are my newest additions.

I have a ten gal set up that is ready for fish. It had homed the betta until I decided he was ready to go back in the main tank. I also have a 5 gal i use for quarentine purposes.

I've been told i have abnormally aggressive community fish. My fish are just funny. The frogs tend to stalk the snail, the snail likes to pester the betta by going into his hiding hole and sleeping. The platys love chasing the dayglos around, and the dayglos like to chase the shrimp, which scares the frogs. My shrimp hang out on the snails shell sometimes and hitch rides to the top of the tank.

The betta (Tiny Jaws) has survived a few moves, a few resets, and for a few months had a ten gal tank to himself. He is a picky little brat. He does not like anything green, brown or spotted in his tank. He also does not like anything red, and loves blue. If i put anything blue in the tank hes in, that becomes his spot. One of the platys is blue and hes always following it around. I had to put him by himself because he had gotten some kind of an eye fungas. I have had him for a little over a year now. Hes our spoiled one. We bought the dayglos mainly to make the original tank more pretty for the kids.

The snail (Speedy) we kept because it practically races around the tank. We had a second one, but gave it to a neighbor, whose daughter fell in love with it (i think she named it gary). The frogs I really only bought because the local dollar store had two of them in this tiny canister shaped fishtank. They had a betta in the other one, but i talked my friend into taking that home to her tank. The platys, those have been an annoyin adventure. I originally had 2 males and a female, so had bought two more females in an effort to even them out. We lost one of the females, and the other two were pregnant. My tank set up at the time couldnt handle it, so they went with the snail to the neighbors. I thought i had two males left, but i just realized one of them is female (she holds her fin like a male but they are actively breeding).

The shrimp and the pleco were added on a whim. I saw a pleco that was the prettiest one i had ever seen, and he was big enough to survive whatever my fish might do to it (baby plecos dont last long with me). Its about the size of my betta, so im not too worried about him. The shrimp, i most got them because they were adorable, and reminded me of the shrimp i had had in my salt tank. They are a good little cleaning crew, and my kids love them. They want me to put only shrimp and guppies in the ten gal, im thinking about it.

Heh, seems i've written a bit of a novel here, hows that for an introduction :P

Edit: im on my 6th or 7th attempt at getting this posted, keeps telling me im not logged in.
