im completely new to the whole fish tank scene, ill cut right to the chase
set up
55 gal (aqueon starter kit)
1 aqueon 55 hob
1 tetra fs 60 *(had to buy this at miejer at midnight came home from work and my cat knocked the surge protecter switch off during the day, couldn't see through the tank at the time)
bubble wall along the back
stock
1 - 5" brown bull head
2 - 2-3" koi
near furture plans for stock
no koi, adding 2 bluegills/sunfish (whatever i catch when warmer weather hits)
my questions/concerns
1-looking at this canister filter any thoughts on this im looking in that price range
2- under-gravel filter... never seen one of these in action but from what i understand it basically pulls water and forces water up the tube then out in the tank by some sort of pump, im thinking that itll just do one big circle and maybe some of the crap gets filtered by the hob's but not all, so why not hook up a canister to the outlet of the under-gravel? (im no expert, just what i understand from what ive read)
