Just wanted to say a quick hi. Me and my hubby love stingrays! We have a tank with a hopefully breeding pair of teacups (the ones that start with R cant think of the name right now too tired). They are between 4" and 5" in disc size. Has anyone breed these types of stingrays before in captivity? If so what are your experiences. We figure they are maybe too small and young still. We have had them almost a yr now. We started feeding them shimp, but they seem not to care for it really and the fact that it needs to be really small bites for them to eat. Anyways just wanted to say a quick hello.

welcome to the forum... they are called reticulated stingrays, the person that knows the most about retrics is probably MILES, im sure he will chime in... good luck

Welcome!!

Yup. Miles does a lot with reticulated stingrays. I beleive that 4-5 inches is still a little to small for them to breed. What size tank do you have them in? Good food, clean water and a big tank seems like it is the key to breeding stingrays.

Welcome.
Potomotrygon Reticulata is what you have.
Try feeding frozen blood worms and shrimp (whole frozen, you chop into little bits.) Also give earthworms.
Welcome my friends to the the North.

I also have 2 retics....however I have only had mine from pups about 7 months ago and they are now 7-8 inch disk size. Yours sound like they are a bit small. What size tank?
deffinitly try the earthworm mine love them. And Krill makes my rays pounce. I think they are still young and small to be thinking about breeding them. Anyway welcome to the forum and yes Miles is the guy to talk to.

post some pictures.... Welcome..

Welcome to the group! I have a Reticulated and will be picking up another this next week. My male is about 7" and nowhere near breeding ready.
Post some pics if you can. We tend to be pic junkies round here!!
