Hi all I have just purchased my first respectable sized tank; I'm cycling my 90L Elite tank whilst I move to my new home with my 240G one so I was wondering if the filter that came with it will be good enough?

It's a Elite Jet- Flo 100 Filter, here's the link -

It also comes with "Venturi" system I believe this is similar to the air pump I have on my current tank, will this air be enough of will I have to use my current air pump when I transfer tank's?

Last question if an additional air pump is required will it matter that it is not in use during cycling?

Thanks a lot guys!

ive never used that filter but it should be fine. extra o2 is always better when cycling. what method of cycling are u using? whats the temp at?

what filter are u going to use on the 240?

The fishless cycle as outlined, however the tank came with solution which claims I can add my fish after 2 day's, would that be suitable?

And the tank is off my dad who is a fisherman, I believe it contains 4 or 5x the best fluval filters...

if your doing a fishless cycle keep it that way. are u adding pure ammonia? i find and others may disagree that a fishless cycle is the best way and can only take 2-3 weeks. i started my 125g from scratch. no used media. i added whatever amount of ammo to maintain 3-4pmm. took 12 days to completely cycle. all i added was stability every day. was very easy.

I don't know what I am adding it is meant to speed up cycling though to quote "add's the necissery bacteria every aquarium need's instantly; this way you can add fish after only 48 hours instead of a month!"
