Went to a 'pet supermarket' chain store today and they had a pretty interesting variety of oddballs. I was looking to see if there were any polys around and I was looking in a tank full of various catfish. And then I saw him, a little 3" palmas polli, poor little dude's tail all torn up. He was in a tank with a RTC, RTCxTSN Hybrid, TSN, Marbled Pim Cats, and a FAHAKA PUFFER. My mind was blown, all the other fish were twice his size. Picked him up for $30, was labeled for $40 but couldn't get the manager down anymore due to his poor condition. Was still iffy at that price until one of the marbled pims tried to eat him while we were standing there.

If that wasn't bad enough, the girl bagging him filled the plastic container all the way, put him in and he instantly jumped out in to the tank with the 3' SA Lungfish, barely got him out in time >_> some people..

Fahaka was probably 4.5", RTC probably 6", tsnxrtc bout 5 and tsn about 4... poor little palmas polli a meager 3" with marbled pims about 5"

Good save there.

I was in this store in chinatown in San Fran sometime ago. They have horrible water, you can smell the ammonia. They always have really neat things though. I walked past this dinky 6in square tank with a little whiptail cat and an 8 in ropefish. I wasn't really planning on buying anything, but he looked me in the face like, "Get me out of here T_T" So I bought him. Unfortunately he died soon after from a nasty infection, poor thing.

I hope your guy does well. :)

thanks ;) he seems to be enjoying himself in a breeder net so far

definitely, his patterns are awesome i need to take some pics when i have some time tomorrow, added some salt and melafix to help his tail

Typical pet chain store for ya...you would think they'd know what their doing. Glad you saved him in time. Good luck with your palmas polli! :D
