Last night I attended the monthly NJAS meeting. The highlight of the evening was a absolutely fantastic presentation by Dr. Paul Loiselle on West African Cichlids. Luckily I was able to obtain a young group of Sarotherodon Knauerae endemic to Lake Ejagham, Cameroon.
They're already eating flakes and pellets with gusto. Constantly foraging/sand sifting, with behavior very similar to Malagasies, although their adult size will be much smaller, max size is about 3 inches. They're about 1 inch now. The links have some great background information, pics much better than mine. Enjoy!
Is anyone else keeping these little ones?
