Newest Flowerhorn

I met this guy a while back who was selling flowerhorn babies. Same guy I got my other one from. He asked if I cuold take pics for him to help sell his fish so I siad sure. Well today I went back to take a few more shots and he gave me this guy free for my help! What type is it? He said it will grow its kok later in the mature ing stage is this right? He showed my pics of his brothers. They are yellow and red no pearls. My guys us about 3 inch. Anyways here a few pics.

Correct me if i am wrong, but i don't think the Kok is going to come in... My LFS said if the fish is above 3" with not a slightest hook or lump its not going nowhere.. He should know he has several prized Flowerhorns for sale over 600 each.
 
yeah thats what i thuoght but his brother has one so i donno i am waiting on the pics of this borther so i can post them. who know he was free.
 
Just because there was a good sibling in the batch doesn't mean they were all winners. You can still get a ugly flowerhorn with good genetics. I would say this is a low grade zhen zhou flowerhorn. It looks like it has been very well kept for and is in good condition but it's kind of a dull/boring fish IMO. Not much room for head growth either.
 
His fins are bright red and so are part of his head. Those pics were right out of the bag ill post more in a few days once hes on Grand sumo red. Hey this is his brother.

Looks like thats going to be a female to me. I see a black marking coming in on the middle of its dorsil fin. Most of the time thats an indication of a female.

Older strains dont get kok till there much bigger,
newer strains will get kok as small as 2inchs..
 
I have seen KOK coming in the later stages of life, I got the same looking. I would say like the brother of this flowerhorn.with me He is very very aggressive and naughty in nature.
not much with sex.
If you like it buy it. simple
