I got this poor beat up little Blue Acara from the LFS as a freebie. He was getting the snot beat out of him by a Jag twice his size and a spotted puffer. The LFS owner said he was basically just a leftover from the fish they used to cycle the tanks before they moved in. I am a huge softie for oldie but goodie old school CA and SA cichlids, and I have a pretty good track record with sick and injured fish, so I have high hopes for this little guy. His fins are shredded and he's got some serious wounds on his head and side. He's in a 29 right now with a bunch of loaches and cories, getting a salt and stress coat bath. He's just shy of 2" and has a great personality, all things considered. I love some of the old school guys like Blue Acaras, JDs and the like. So easy to over look some of the fish who helped make the hobby what it is today. If this guy can survive living in an uncycled tank AND getting his @$$ whooped by a Jag and a puffer, he's my kind of fish!
