Newly acquired Chocolate cichlid

This guy/gal was available at a higher end LFS after they acquired the fish from a local breeder. They had another Chocolate in the store which came from their wholesaler. The difference was obvious with color, shape and width of the two fish. Needless to say I'm happy I forked over the extra $10 for the better bred fish. I had my eye on this fish for 2 weeks and felt lucky to see the fish still there. I don't want to say I'm happy my JD died 10 days ago, but I think things worked out. The bugger is 5" and eating Hikari cichlid Bio-Gold.

I'll try and post better pics once I figure out how to make the pictures more crisp on this camera. I changed a lot of settings and kinda messed things up.

Thanks. He's already eating and moving all around the tank, I'm quite happy with the purchase. And, he's already showing tons of personality. I may or may not get some Congo tetras as dither.

Ask your LFS. Most don't carry them, but they can order them.

Found some for $7 at about 2.5-3". This is the one I got:

Sweet buy man. They look so different at that size, not so much in color, but in their face. Keep me posted as it grows.

I will, that was the day after I brought him home, hes a bit darker now.
