i believe its a bamboo. either way, it hatched a few days ago and i cant seem to get it to eat. what is the best thing to get them to eat. i have tried silversides and krill and clam is going to be next. also i head that you get better luck feeding at night?

Fatsolomon - You probable should have done more research before purchasing the shark egg. I recommend you purchase "Aquarium Sharks & Rays" by Scott Micheal. After you read that alot of your questions should be answered. As for your little shark, most newborns will not eat right away as they are full from the yolksac casing. I would keep trying and don't stress just yet. Make sure the peices you feed him are small enough for him, and soak them in a garlic suppliment if you have any, if not I recommend you go to your LFS and purchase some. Soak the food in it and it should help him to eat. Also yes, Bamboos, Coral Cats ect. are nocturnal. So when you feed, trying turing your night lights on. If this does not work, let me know and we can go from there. Also do not get discouraged however its a fact you may need to face, hatching sharks is very difficult, some adapt and eat, some do not and die. Hopefully yours begins to eat. Keep us updated!

Thanks, Brenden

We frequently hatch sharks at the store, I will ask what we feed the little ones.

yea sorry i forgot to tell you i work at my LFS and its the stores shark not mine. however ive never handled taking care of one before so thanks for the tips. so far we have tried silversides, krill, trout worms, and clam is coming tomorrow.

o and its a banded shark as the invoice says. i dunno if that helps.

My LFS tried brine shrimp and it worked.

this will be its fourth day, and i dont know if it ate last night or not. ill try brine after the clam.
