Right now i have a south american bio type and was wondering if there are any newts or salamanders that i could find that are from the amazon basin.

That is epic.

I know, I just was looking for an excuse to use it.

In all seriousness though, I can't think of one off of the top of my head. maybe look into dart frogs, I know they can be found there.

The reason you don't see many tropical salamander and newt species is because there aren't that many to begin with. Most have evolved to live in cool, temperate climates up north.

couldn't of possibly found a worse time to use this. it did not provide absolutely anything worthwhile...

like the other user said....most newts/salamanders if not all come from colder areas/temperate regions. places with 4 seasons and such. even the axolotl from mexico needs cooler water

The reason you cannot find much info on Amazonian newts/salamanders... is because there aren't really any to find info about...

I've made a few tropical terrarium/vivariums and have searched many times for details on salamanders to put in them. I've never found a single available option...

But there are TONS of frog species available...

Yep. As said above, lots of frogs, not many salamanders. Even down here in FL I've never seen a terrestrial salamander, just the big aquatics like sirens and amphiumas.
