or glass/grass shrimp? A friend has just started a large amphibian tank and wants to put ghost shrimp in there as food and a cleaning crew. Will this be ok?

yeah, african clawed. He's doing a 55 for now with a sealed divider so everybody has their own water. Not sure what kind of newts yet.

not sure that combo of newt and frog will work but the ghost shrimp will work(get eaten that is)

They'll be fine.

Don't newts secrete toxins thru their skins?

Pretty much all amphibians do, some just have more toxins then others. If its a fire-bellied newt (probably is), it's toxins could kill/sicken everything else in the water, but don't quote me on this.

What kind of frogs are we talking about here? African Clawed frogs will eat just about everything and everyone.

with the sealed divider will the frogs be ok (safe from the newt toxins)? I am pretty sure they will be fire bellies, but he may be looking for a different kind.

The frogs are on order already.

If they are sealed apart and not living in the same water as each other then yes, I would think they would be ok.
