what would be the next best cichlid to get.i want something that could go in a 55 by itself........and yes i already have a red devil in a 75 by itself.I want to try something different.i was thinking flowerhorn.

A 75g would be more desireable for a Fh.
May i suggest a male Carpinte, preferably Escondido, for your 55g. They have spectacular markings and colouration. And due to the amount of territorialness some of these beauties pocess they can become somewhat of a glassbanger.

there are people with Fh's in 55's(should have a lot of w/c), but yea a 75 would be better!

you could try a breeding project in there!:D i know you wanted one really nice fish! but how bout 2! that breed!

but thats what i am doing when one of my 55's free up!

i would say a pair of lyonsi

i agree with you MARC... a esco carpinte would be BADASS!!!! i have a female right now in a lil 29g. she's a slow grower, but HOLY HELL!.. she is most DEF a GLASS BANGER!!!!!!!! really REALLY pretty too. a nice turqoise color (or however you spell it) haha... she laid eggs a few weeks ago. im just waiting to find her a nice looking male from Rapps. ;)

I would get a Oscar perfect for a 55g will get big fast and will take up the tank... A albno red with all black gravel...
