IMO Arizona probably came out with the best draft selections. First having Leinart fall down to them at no. 10 was a gift even though I'd have much rather seen them get Young or Cutler. I'm not a USC fan and also not really a Leinart fan but I guess I'll have to learn to like him because I'll really be cheering for Arizona next year. I really think they could have one of the best offenses in the league if their O-line can improve. They also got another blessing in picking up Leonard Pope, a 6-8 tight end that's an excellent receiver who can really stretch the field, to go along with what has often been described as the "best WR tandem in the league" of Boldin and Fitzgerald and of course the newly acquired Edgerrin James who I'd argue is the best back in the league.
I think the Colts did a pretty good job drafting but they could have done better imo. From what I've read of Addai I think he'll fit in perfectly in their system. One expert described him as a faster Edgerrin James. I guess time will tell. The defensive players they drafted were all undersized but supposed to be incredibly quick and big hitters. The corners they picked were 5-8 and 5-10 which I found kind of disappointing with all the 6-0 to 6-2 corners that were available, but hopefully these guys have speed to make up for their lack of size.
The Jets apparently had a great draft as well picking up 2 new O-linemen in the first round and then Kellen Clemens (who one analyst said may prove to be the best QB from this draft class though I find that hard to believe) later on.
All I can say is with the way free agency and the draft went this year I really can't wait for next season to start. It's going to be a very interesting year for sure. Every game in the NFC East will be a great game, the Packers could make a heck of a comeback but the Bears and Vikings will also be tough in the NFC North. The NFC South will also be a fight to the finish with the much improved Saints (adding Bush, Brees among others), Falcons (who added Jimmy Williams to go along with DeAngelo Hall for possibly the best CB tandem in the league as well as adding other key players), Carolina (who were tough last year but after adding DeAngelo Williams, Keyshawn Johnson and others their offense will only be better) and Bucs (Alan Zemaitis is the only new addition I can think of offhand but I'm sure they made other key additions LOL). The NFC West will probably just come down to Arizona and Seattle vying for the division but I really think Arizona will at least make the playoffs. I think they will easily be the most improved team next year.
And that only covers the NFC, the AFC will also be just as competitive as always. If Baltimore can bring in Steve McNair like they want to and he can stay healthy then they could easily go back to the Super Bowl. The Pats unfortunately (can't stand them) improved their team with Maroney and others. Denver will be another improved team with the addition of new big play receivers which was where they lacked the most last year and they still went 13-3.
Anyway, who else has thoughts on the draft and next season?
