I was wondering how nfl fans are viewing this situation . I for one think that a lockout will ruin the game for which i jones for 6 months out of the year and I fear it will go the way of baseball where only big market teams will be able to afford to "buy" a championship. Total BS is what I think . How do you guys feel

Well lets hope they dont do anything about the salary cap...I thought this was more about the way contracts were structured for rookies, and how long the season was going to be.

thats part of it but the biggest fight is over revenue sharing between owners and players . The union proposed a 50/50 split and the league walked out, since then they have begun negotiations again but march 3rd is close

I wish I could get paid a ridiculous amount of money to play a game that Im supposed to love and have a large portion of the year off! Instead I have a JOB I love, a decent salary and hardly any time to take a vacation.

how is restructuring revenue sharing and the extra 9 billion they've stumbled upon effect "big markets buying championships" as you mentioned? This would have no impact on teams competitiveness as the nfl shares profits, the issue you're refering to do only has to do with what the owners make vs the player's pie that they split between each other. Personally, i say give the owners what they want, unions ruin sports. Baseball is a great example of a league where the players union has always gotten what it wants and look at it....teams buy championships and players are overpaid

The owners , in my opinion have no right to make more than the players . The union is there to fight for players rights , how many players have blown out a knee or had so many concussions they cant think straight and the league and owners turn there back on them and cant even get medical insurance , mike webster is a perfect example . you are right about the revenue sharing though Im just afraid if theres a lockout nfl will turn into mlb .... forgotten

well, the mlb is a perfect example of a league where they players make more then the owners....look how thats turned out. how'd that 252 milllion contract alex rodriguez got from the rangers work out? Rangers filed bankruptcy last year...granted, they did make it to the world series though. Do you collectively with your other co workers make more then upper management in your company? i'm not sure why the nfl should be any different. Owners have profit in mind, players have themselves in mind, throw off that balance and the fans are the ones that suffer
